Ziel dieses Projekts ist eine Neubestimmung des Sakralraumbegriffs. Zentral hierfür ist – nicht allein aus theologischer Perspektive – das Überschreiten langlebiger Dichotomisierungen (z.B. sakral/profan, Kirche/Welt, Innen/Außen). Dieses kann gelingen, indem Erkenntnisgewinne des spatial turn (ausgehend von Michel de Certeau) zusammengebracht werden mit derzeitigen kulturwissenschaftlichen Diskurssträngen zum Thema Versammlung und Gemeinschaft. Eine mit Hilfe eines Differenzdenkens ermöglichte Neubestimmung des Sakralraumbegriffs legt nicht nur dichotomische Rahmungen und binäre Praktiken offen, sondern ist von gesellschaftlicher Relevanz, insofern Versammlung (Gesellschaft und Gemeinschaft) mit Hilfe "anderer" Politiken (und damit mit Hilfe "anderer" Räume bzw. Raumvorstellungen) und nicht-essentialistischer Denkformen im Anschluss an den postcolonial turn zu denken gesucht wird.

Politics of the Limit. Redefining the Concept of Sacred Space
Transformation of Sacred Space: Politics of the Limit: A New Determination of Sacred Space Concepts by means of the Philosophy of Difference and Spatial Turn
The aim of this project is to redefine the concept of sacred space. Central to this - not only from a theological perspective - is the transcending of long-lived dichotomizations (e.g. sacred/profane, church/world, inside/outside). This can be achieved by bringing together the insights of the spatial turn (starting from Michel de Certeau) with current strands of cultural studies discourse on the topic of assembly and community. A redefinition of the concept of sacred space made possible with the help of difference thinking not only exposes dichotomous framings and binary practices, but is of social relevance insofar as assembly (society and community) is sought to be thought with the help of "other" politics (and thus with the help of "other" spaces or conceptions of space) and non-essentialist forms of thought following the postcolonial turn.
Vom 3. – 4. November 2023 fand die dritte TRANSARA-Jahrestagung unter dem Titel „Epistemologien des Transformierens“ statt.
Vom 3. November 2023 (10h)- 4. November 2023 (14h) findet die dritte Tagung der Forschungsgruppe „Transara“ via Zoom statt.
Prof. Dr. Jörg Seip publizierte im Buch "Ambiguität - Identität - Sinnentwürfe" einen Beitrag zur praktisch-theologischen Neubestimmung hegemonialer Verhältnisse.
Unsere DFG-Forschungsgruppe 2733. Sakralraumtransformation wurde für weitere 3 Jahre verlängert.
